The Alcatel-Lucent Virtualized Service Router (VSR) is a highly flexible virtualized IP edge router architected and optimized for x86 server environments. The VSR enables rapid service innovation, extends service reach, opens new markets, and accelerates time to market. It also lowers operating costs with a homogenized physical infrastructure.
Based on the Alcatel-Lucent Service Routing Operating System (SR OS), the VSR delivers a broad and rich set of virtualized IP edge applications and services that deliver high performance and elastic scalability in an x86 environment. It supports the highest levels of reliability and resiliency.
The VSR is managed by the 5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM).
