WEG was selected as the best company within the industry sector in Brazil for its commitment to economic and financial growth and performance achieved in 2014 with an emphasis on market leadership, profitability, growth rate, liquidity, investments and results, generated by each company employee.

Every year, Exame issues a list of the 1000 Best and Biggest companies in Brazil, highlighting the 18 winners by business segment. This is the 11th time WEG has been the named winner in the category of Capital Goods but this year is the first time that WEG is honored with the Company of the Year Award.
“Since its foundation in 1961 WEG has been establishing ambitious objectives and tough goals based on discipline and proper business plans to achieve those objectives and goals. The success of the company is a true testament of the company’s commitment to individual and team work, worker motivation, focus on driving innovative product technologies and establishing market strategies”, stated Harry Schmelzer Jr., CEO of WEG.

Since 1981, when the company was announced as the Best Company in the Machine and Equipment sector, WEG has been included in the annual Recognition Awards list. For Mr. Schmelzer, this specific Award as the Company of the Year of Brazil reflects the efforts of the entire company team. “These are the cultural fundamentals created by our founders and conveyed to future generations. In other words, this is the way we do business allowing us to grow and turn WEG into a global player", explains Harry.
