Johnson Controls volunteers lay new laminated wood tile floors for the Budapest Family Support Services agency. The new floors added a bright, cheerful and more comforting atmosphere to the building where children receive therapy and other assistance.

Leveling the playing field

Budapest family service agency gets much-needed renovations to better serve children and families

In Hungary, the government-run Family Support Services network helps children with learning disabilities develop skills so they can be on a more even level with other school children. It also provides children with psychological therapy and offers support for families in crisis.

The Budapest chapter of Family Support Services needed to move to a more affordable location and found one in a section of a local school building. However, the interior of the building needed renovations to make the space usable.

Five volunteers from the Johnson Controls Global WorkPlace Solutions Shell team pitched in to help. The team manages and maintains Shell service stations throughout the area.
