Nurturing Agricultural Community Development

In 2011, Quebrada Blanca Operations in Chile assisted in developing and funding a five-year project involving approximately 200 people and focused on several aspects of agriculture. The project included working with farmers to implement a preventative treatment for livestock and improving soil quality to increase crop yields. A local nursery was also developed with Teck’s support, creating a place where children can be cared for while their families work the land. The program also offered agriculture training and work experience for local residents.
