Management of Environmental Commitments of Ministro Hales and Pampa Puno Projects, Codelco

Poch provided a service to manage environmental commitments and to support the environmental operational activities, for the project of Ministro Hales Mine and Pampa Puno.

The mineral deposit Ministro Hales is located approximately 5 km north of the city of Calama. This site, which will be primarily operated as an open pit mine but will later be transformed to an underground mine, considers the building of a concentrate plant, with a processing capacity of 50 thousand tons of mineral per day. The resulting concentrate will be processed in the smelting-refining plant that already operates in Chuquicamata. The Ministro Hales Division of Codelco, which formally began operations in 2013, is expected to annually produce 200.000 tons of fine copper and 330 tons of silver, during the first 5 years of operation.
