Safety has the highest priority at Maersk Container Industry, and the efforts we make to reduce incidents and accidents have paid off and are reflected in all-time low Lost Time Accident Rates (LTAR) for 2011. This is a good indication that our governance structure and the safety protocols we have put in place are having the desired effect.
No accidents are acceptable. Due to the nature of our work, it is crucial that we constantly seek the highest possible standards to safeguard our employees. The overall goal of our safety performance is zero accidents and fatalities. We aim to achieve this goal through a combination of governance and training.
- Reduce Lost Time accidents by 10% annually with a long-term goal of zero accidents and fatalities.
- Ensure effective health management that identifies health hazards and makes sure that appropriate measures are taken.
