Gas-Powered Industrial Engines

Another very attractive sales market for the future development of HOERBIGER is gas-powered industrial engines. These engines are frequently used for energy generation, but also as drive units for machines such as compressors.

Starting with the compressor technology, HOERBIGER initially was engaged in the development of technologically sophisticated gas injection valves, for example for hydrogen. Based on these in-house developments, the acquisition of know-how for engine controls and ignition systems resulted in the formation of the new Business Segment HOERBIGER Engine Solutions.

As a result of the acquisition of Altronic Inc. in Girard, Ohio, USA at the beginning of 2009, HOERBIGER has become a world market leader for digital ignition systems used in gas-operated industrial engines.
