Legacy Way Tunnel BRISBANE, QLD

ACCIONA is the lead participant of the to design, construct, operate and maintain the $1.5 billion Legacy Way Tunnel project for 10 years. The project involves the construction of a twin-tube 4.6 km underground toll road that will link the western freeway at Toowong with the Inner City Bypass at Kelvin Grove. Construction involves two 12.4 m diameter, 90 m long Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).

A World Record for Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Performance was broken during construction, excavating 49.7 metres in one day, beating the previous record by 13.7 metres

Sydney Light Rail SYDNEY, NSW

ACCIONA is the Principal Design and Construct JV partner of the ALTRAC consortium, awarded with the contract to design and construct the $2.1 billion Sydney CBD South East Light Rail line. As part of a Public Private Partnership with NSW State government, ACCIONA is responsible for delivering the infrastructure for this iconic addition to Sydney’s transport network and a key initiative of Sydney’s Long Term Transport Master Plan.
