This advanced course is the second part of a two-course program. The training course is intended to meet more in-depth learning needs of end-user/OEM/contractor personnel working with rotating equipment, such as centrifugal pumps used in process industries.
Key objectives of the course include:
- Gain a more detailed overview of pump and seal chamber design
- Understand more advanced principles of mechanical seals and support systems used in rotating equipment
- Understand material technology for commonly used sealing materials
- Provide further opportunities for hands-on experience with mechanical seal assembly and installation
- Understand the principles of seal selection, based on ISO and API shaft sealing standards
- Understand how to conduct a root cause analysis (RCA) investigation to identify and resolve failures associated with rotating equipment
