General Cable offers a full range of Outside Plant wire and cable for telecommunications requirements. All of our products comply with either RUS (REA), ICEA or Telcordia (Bellcore) specifications. Our extensive product line includes a broad range of sizes in air core, filled core and specialty wire products for aerial, duct and direct buried applications. These products are available in a variety of sheath designs to provide the necessary electrical shielding and mechanical protection for any application.

Telecommunications products are primarily served to two markets, Commercial and Telco. The Commercial market is comprised of hundreds of Independent Telephone Companies (ITCOs) and contractors. General Cable services these end users through distributors. The Telco market is composed of the four remaining Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs). Sales to these large telephone companies are made either on a direct basis or through value added diversity partners.
