The Alcatel-Lucent IP Border Controller-4 (IBC-4) offers integrated Session Border Controller (SBC) functionality for VoIP, multimedia and next-generation presence-based applications. For service providers who need this functionality, the IBC-4 complements the Alcatel-Lucent distributed IP Access Border solution by providing an integrated form factor.
- Supports multimedia services such as audio and video, and Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP) sessions
- Delivers up to twice the processing performance through a high-capacity signaling blade
- Supports signaling-intensive applications and defends against DoS and DDoS
- Processes events at line speed and protects against malformed messages
- Supports per-subscriber rate limiting
- Uses Call Admission Control and bandwidth-based session admission control
- Supports registration prioritization
