Post-tensioned slab thickness
Details Written by Rodney Bellido de Luna
Knowing the thickness of the post-tensioned slab will allow us to define the capacity of the estructural support
In a post-tensioned slab, thickness is a very important variable, so that if work is constructed with a thickness less than the projected, a significant problem occurs with decreasing the carrying capacity of post-tensioned slab, in many cases this issue is resolved by using carbon fiber.
The carbon fiber mats take additional efforts in existing slab and therefore must be installed below the slab as above, mainly by checking the punching shear in the sectors close at pillars which are generally necessary to place greater amounts of reinforcement structural.
