WebKit is an important browser engine that does not yet support WebRTC. Well, that’s about to change with a new initiative.

In October of last year Ericsson Research made a significant contribution to the WebRTC ecosystem by releasing its client framework OpenWebRTC as free and Open Source.

“It would be cool to share a live video stream from a remote controlled quadcopter into a web application using WebRTC.”

It’s now been just over a month since we released OpenWebRTC and Bowser as free and Open Source. Today we’re happy to demonstrate successful interoperation between Bowser and Firefox.
