Objetivos

4Sal Intends to help with the drill planning in saline areas by calculating the salt concentration in the fluid phase. AIMS 4Sal aims to find advantages in the saline areas drilling planning through the development of a simulator for fluids circulation involved in drilling and cementing operations to calculate the concentration of salt in the fluid phase.

Soluciones

The largest oil discoveries in Brazil have been made recently by Petrobras in the pre-salt layer located between the states of Santa Catarina and Espirito Santo, where Petrobras has found large volumes of light oil. Drilling wells in salt areas is a big challenge for oil companies in Brazil and worldwide.

• Use of lower cost fluids;
• To allow the drilling with highest penetration rate in saline areas;
• Generation of smaller gravel pack volume and then smaller carrying flow rates are required.
