Business Resource Groups (formerly called Affinity Networks) have a two-fold purpose. For employees, as Fernando Serpa, director of Diversity and Inclusion, says, “it is an excellent developmental opportunity for employees to hone their leadership, project management, and team building and communication skills.”

From a business perspective, BRG’s can be used to tap into new markets and better understand cross-cultural nuances. With their new identity, they also serve as talent incubators – helping to find the future leaders of Johnson Controls.
