Ultranav believes in the importance of providing as much as possible in-house Shipmanagement for its own vessels. Whilst Antares Naviera in Argentina and Naviera Transoceánica in Peru have their Shipmanagement integrated, Ultratank and Transmares in Chile use the services of a separate company of Ultranav named Humboldt Shipmanagement.

Humboldt Shipmanagement currently employs more that 1000 seafarers, and provides full (crewing and technical) management to over 30 ocean going vessels. It also provides a wide range of services to shipowners, including pre-purchase ship inspections and newbuilding supervision.

Through Humboldt Marine Training (HMT), the group ensures that its seagoing and ashore personnel receive world class training that comply with all international requirements. HMT has been authorized by the Chilean and Panamanian Maritimes Authorities to provide IMO training courses, allowing students to obtain their international certificates.

Also, HMT is the only Maritime Resource Management (MRM) course provider in South America, on behalf of the Swedish Club.
