Metal processing ( forging, rolling, stamping, wire drawing) as well as machining require the use of steels having outstanding resistance to metal-to-metal wear, to shocks, to galling and sometimes to high temperatures (softening) such as the case of steels hot working steels or high speed steels. Compliant selection of welding filler metals and the development of procedures adapted to each type of repair are required to restore and to improve the wear resistance of these special steels (type S7, O1, A2, D2, H13, M2, P20, etc.).
