Quebrada Blanca Phase 2

Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 is a development project that aims to increase Quebrada Blanca’s copper production by more than 100% and extend the mine’s production life by more than 30 years.

The project is expected to include the construction of a new concentrating plant, a tailings facility and new pumping and piping installations for transporting concentrate, sea water intake and treatment plant (which will be transported to the concentrator through a sea water pipeline), and facilities to receive, filter and ship concentrate in the North Patache sector south of Iquique.

According to preliminary studies, the Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 project will increase the operation’s production capacity to approximately 200,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate and 5,100 tonnes of molybdenum in concentrate per year.
