The main lube oil system in a turbine is the largest oil system in a power plant. A lube oil system for a 300 MW turbine can easily contain 40,000 L of oil, usually ISO VG46. The oil lubricates the large turbine bearings and ensures that heat, particles, oil degradation products and water are lead away from the bearings.

In a steam turbine, the main concern is water emulsions in the oil due to e.g. leakage through the labyrinth seals. The water will cause corrosion of the bearings and rapid degradation of the oil. For steam turbines, A with CJCâ„¢ BLAT Filter Inserts will remove particles and oil degradation products at the same time, and will furthermore separate the water via the coalescing principle.

In a gas turbine, the main concern is particle contamination and oil degradation products reducing the lubricity of the oil and leading to wear of bearings and rapid degradation of the oil. For gas turbines, a will remove particles and oil degradation products at the same time.
