Power Plant Gears became part of David Brown in 1994 and brought with it a range of well known gear engineering brands including Wyko and Turbine Gears.

Power Plant Gears is well known for its specialist repairs of gearboxes in the power generation industry, however over the years the company has supplied heavy industrial gear systems to industries such as sugar processing, cement, metals, petrochemical, marine, rubber and mining. David Brown has recently completed service work on a Turbine Gears gearbox, which has been driving a hydroelectricity plant in Scotland for more than 50 years.
