TURBINE GEARS Gearbox Parts, Service and Repair

David Brown is the expert when it comes to providing support services for its heritage brands.

In 1994, David Brown acquired the Power Plant gears business (then known as Wyko Power Plant Gears) from Wyko Transmissions in 1994. The acquisition brought with it Turbine Gears, a well known manufacturer of heavy industrial gearboxes for high speed, marine and steel processing applications.

There are a number of Turbine Gears gear systems in still operation today and we have recently completed service work on a Turbine Gears gearbox, which has been driving a hydroelectricity plant in Scotland for more than 50 years.

Although the Turbine Gears brand was absorbed, the Power Plant Gears brand continues to be part of David Brown’s portfolio and is active at David Brown’s service and repair centre in the West Midlands, UK.

David Brown holds all original IPR for the Power Plant Gears and Turbine Gears brands and is the only approved repairer of these gearbox brands.
