Abrasive Media

EKATO develops impellers in composite construction using ceramic materials that reach a significantly longer service life than conventional steel, alloy or titanium components when agitators operate in highly abrasive and corrosive media. Savings can be achieved with respect to operational and maintenance costs by means of reduced stocking of spare parts and longer intervals between plant shutdowns. The improved wear resistance permits higher impeller power inputs or higher solids concentrations and thus a higher conversion and / or yields in critical process steps. The design of the ceramic parts in solid construction eliminates the typical disadvantages of coatings such as adhesion to the surface and therefore minimizes the risk of downtimes.
