Veteran Employment Partnerships & Accolades
At Johnson Controls, hiring military veterans and active service members has been a fundamental element of how we’ve grown our global team. Not just in size, but in experience, talent and the capacity for solving difficult problems and making tough decisions. The strategy only makes sense for us as military skills and values translate perfectly to careers within our company. So, as we strive to continue increasing our military employment rate and improve the welfare of our veterans, we’ve partnered with several like-minded companies working towards very similar goals.
The 100,000 Jobs Mission
The 100,000 Jobs Mission is the collective goal of over 100 prominent U.S. companies to hire at least 100,000 transitioning service members and veterans by the year 2020. The initiative is tied directly to U.S. Veterans Pipeline, a service that matches military occupations with careers in corporate America. As of June 30th, 2013, there have been 77,612 veterans hired by way of this initiative.
