Johnson Controls and the National Action Council for Minorities team up to find and develop diverse talent

The face of America is changing. Based on national population projections from the U.S. Census Bureau, by the year 2050, no one race or ethnic category will serve as a majority. Although the U.S. population is becoming more diverse, this trend is not reflected in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. For instance, in 2012, only 12.9 percent of Bachelor of Science engineering degrees were awarded to minorities, although they represent 30 percent of the general population.

At Johnson Controls, diversity is woven into how we do business, and with more than 10,000 engineers, it’s crucial that we recruit the best talent. To better serve a diverse global marketplace, we support organizations like the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME), which help us to develop, recruit and retain a diverse workforce.
