Crafting tile to fit curved roofs has been a specialty of Ludowici’s since the late 1800′s. To accommodate the geometry of a curved roof, Ludowici artfully tapers tile to become progressively smaller from the bottom to the top of a curved roof. These graduated tiles are custom designed to fit a specific roof. This custom process requires Ludowici to send technicians to the job-site to take detailed field measurements of the physical structure. Ludowici craftsmen use these drawings to design patterns and molds for each row of tiles.
