Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Teck is a diversified resource company committed to responsible mining and mineral development with major business units focused on copper, steelmaking coal, zinc and energy. The Pend Oreille Mine, located in northeastern Washington, is currently hiring for the role of: Senior Geotechnical Engineer.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer has a number of key accountabilities.

· Ensure site’s compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (i.e. MSHA CFR 30)

· Maintain and revise as necessary the geotechnical design criteria based on geotechnical data

· Identification and management (i.e. maintain High Potential Risk Register) of material geotechnical risks to the operation

· Ensure that excavations are appropriately supported

· Manage and ensure compliance with the backfill program

· Providing micro and macro scale input to mine designs and plans
