The Automated Welding tekLINK is an affordable turnkey solution for teaching modern techniques of production welding.

In this tekLINK students discover robotic welding fundamentals by first working through the entire welding process in simulation. Only then do they execute actual automated welding applications.

tekLINK activities challenge students to develop solutions for common welding problems, such as thermal deformation, by adjusting their welding technique. Students also learn to improve weld quality by optimizing important welding parameters such as wire feed rate, robot speed, inert gas shield and voltage.

Safety is an integral part of both the hardware and software design. The system complies with ANSI radiation standard Z87.1-1989. The robotic workbench is housed in a fire retardant metal booth with filter-plated windows for UV and eye protection. Opening a booth door automatically halts the welding operation. Pressing either of two emergency buttons immediately halts both robotic and welding operations.
