Disaster Response

Natural and man-made disasters occur under a myriad of conditions and causes with resulting impacts being equally diverse. Preparing appropriate disaster response, therefore, requires accurate, timely information both for immediate relief efforts and for longer-term mitigation. Terra Remote Sensing provides data-sets that can assist in both aspects of disaster response planning. Terra has the capacity and capability to provide timely disaster response surveys to assess damage and provide data to support repair and reconstruction initiatives.

As global weather patterns seem to be trending towards more frequent and more extreme weather events, being prepared for these events includes having the ability to respond quickly to the unexpected. Terra has been involved in disaster response efforts to document the effects of flood events and has provided data for flood remediation. Our projects have also included providing data for flood-risk assessments that are used to reduce risk of disaster due to extreme weather events.
