Alkylation of benzene in refinery CCR and PER reformate enables reduction of benzene in the motor gasoline pool to new specification limits of 1.0 or even 0.6% while also increasing overall reformer product octane – rather than decreasing it with saturation.

Alternatively, ThyssenKrupp Morphylane process can be used to extract light aromatics (BTX) for further processing and sales.
