All Hamburg Süd employees contribute to the company’s success through their effort, commitment and expertise. Their achievements are appropriately rewarded on the basis of the applicable collective wage agreements*. In addition, a 13th month’s salary each November (Christmas bonus) and a voluntary year-end payment (payable in March of the following year) go to make up an attractive remuneration scheme.

Accompanying this system are numerous social benefits, such as travel allowances (also in the form of an HVV Proficard – a season ticket for the Hamburg public transport system – as an environmentally friendly alternative for the journey to work), subsidised meals in the company restaurant (Columbus Grill), capital-accumulation benefits (payable after six months’ service) as well as group accident insurance extending to the private sphere. Further, Hamburg Süd grants its staff marriage and childbirth benefits and gratuities for long-service anniversaries.
