Whether it is valves for fuel or steam supply, you will find very fine tolerances in the servo valves (e.g. MOOG). Oil Degradation will lead to a layer of varnish on the internal surfaces and this can make plungers stick, which leads to tripping of the turbine.

The oil types in these systems can be mineral oils or phosphate esters, and the contamination of the hydraulic oil is related to particles, oil degradation products and water. Where phosphate esters are used, acids are also a major concern.

A suitable CJC™ Oil Filtration System for maintaining clean oil would be for mineral hydraulic oils and with the media for phosphate esters. In cases where water contamination is present, a is recommended.
