Hiring People With Disabilities

Johnson Controls has joined forces with The Corporate Source in Puerto Rico to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful work and improve their lives

People with disabilities also have abilities that make them excellent employees. Yet, unemployment among this segment of our society is extraordinarily high – 90 percent in Puerto Rico, for example.

The Corporate Source (TCS) is changing things. They are part of the non-profit YAI Network, whose agencies offer programs and advocacy to provide individuals with disabilities more opportunities for employment and a better life.

Since setting up operations in Puerto Rico in 2000, TCS has trained and placed numerous individuals in public sector jobs, especially at federal government agencies. These jobs include maintenance, groundskeeping, mailroom and clerical services, mechanical work and washing government fleet vehicles.
