Knight Piésold’s mining services expertise has been utilized on hundreds of surface and underground mining projects worldwide, particularly with respect to geochemical characterization groundwater evaluation, water supply, and services.

Research, design and implementation of pioneering solutions to mining waste management and heap leach systems, as well as specialist geomechanical evaluations for open-pit stability and underground mine developments, have positioned our company as leaders in these fields.

The Yanacocha mine is the largest gold producer in Latin America and is composed of four operations. Knight Piésold has worked with Yanacocha since the mine inception and during the last 14 years of operation, Knight Piésold has designed all heap leach pads and associated structures including ponds, access roads and channels amongst others.
